Seamless tube
It is obtained by using a solid steel ingot or cylinder as raw material, which is then drilled and shaped through a hot rolling or cold rolling process. The absence of welding gives it certain advantages in terms of strength and mechanical properties, which is why they are used in demanding industries such as petrochemical, automotive, construction and engineering.
They are tubes that go through a hot drawing process; and cold drawing in calibrated. Its applications are mainly in the technological field: chemical industry, petrochemical industry, heat exchangers and pressure boilers.
They share the same field of application as the technological welded tubes (with or without material contribution) but being more expensive to manufacture than the welded tube, they are only used either if the necessary dimensions have a ratio impossible to obtain by longitudinal welding of a strip; or if the safety conditions require to avoid risks of leakage implicit in any welded tube.
